I actually slept in today until about 8:30 after having slept all night.
After breakfast I installed Peg’s new Sirius radio and set that up all nice and neat. I’m going to have to figure out how to hardwire the power for the car as the cig lighter adapter is in a really bad spot, and I have to hardwire the other car because that one just doesn’t work.
Then it was off to sis’ to install a Sirius into their car and found it was really easy. Then I played on the Wii with the nephew and hung out with Ed a bit. While that was going on the girls were out shopping and getting their post holiday spending out of their system. Once they got back Peg was teaching my niece to knit.
After that it was dinner at the steak house and home to relax. Lots of fun!

Well it was a great couple days.
Yesterday we went over to Peg’s Mom’s for a visit and family photo. I got a great couple of gifts from her Mom and had a nice time, not withstanding the fire alarm incident. Once the pictures were taken I said my goodbyes and it was off to my family for dinner and gift exchange. I had a very enjoyable time catching up with my brother and Liz. Rose and her family showed up and the shrimp dinner was great even if there was more hidden. I got some very nice gifts that I will have lots of fun using. Then it was home to meet up with Peg.
Today we started out the morning waking up early and exchanging gifts. Peg loved all of them that I got her, including her web site. I’m wondering what went over better, the new comforter or the easy button🙂
Today she also finally met my aunt Betty, Jim, Liz, Rose and her other kids. She met my brother in law and niece previously.
We started out going to my Mom and Dad’s and realized on the way that we both forgot our cels, but decided not to worry about it today. After chatting for a while we gave them our gifts and Peg received hers from them. The two of us and my brother and Liz got our stockings which we hung on the treadmill with care.
From there we went to visit my aunt with my brother and Liz and talked for an hour or so. Very nice time there. We then traveled to my sister’s for dinner (excellent as always, thanks Rose!) and a relaxing time with the kids.
We then took Jim and Liz to my parents, a few cookies and then back home. A long but throughly enjoyable day!

So we were looking for a flat panel monitor today, just on a spur of the moment thing. Checking the ads we saw that Circuit City had a 19′ on sale for a great price, about $169 after rebates. So we ordered on online for in-store pickup. Out to the store we go, holiday traffic and all.
We get there and find a decent parking space. The cashier line that we have to get into to pick the monitor up has 4 employees working four registers. It’s a ‘common feeder’ line and we make the fifth customer in line. Roughly 15 minutes later we get to the cashier.
We explain that we’re there to pick up the monitor we ordered and have our confirmation sheet. The cashier checks our credit card and id and has us sign for the purchase. Another couple comes up and starts complaining about some rebate or other that was not correct. We refocus the cashier on us and she goes to get the monitor. We see her get on the phone. Another 5 minutes later she comes back and says ‘we don’t have it and no other store does either’ and stares at us.
We complain and she gives us a ‘Not my problem’ attitude and we get a gift card for $24 for our trouble. I was unhappy but eh, it’s probably for the best.
Tomorrow it’s off to see the families for general good times and the traditional steamed shrimp dinner! (Thanks Mom and Dad!!!)

I had forgotten I got this little extension for FireFox. I’m going to have to toy with this a little bit.

I think that the majority of my shopping is done for this year. Now I just have to find those two gifts that I put away and said ‘I won’t forget where these are’. The only shopping that I have left is to get that one gift for the person that I forgot, whoever that may be….
